Vintage Tonka Pressed Steel #23 Cab Over Tractor

This is one of the nicest examples of a classic Tonka pressed steel truck. There is no surface rust to speak of, and the original paint is glossy and bright. The original decals are intact, though the plated plastic bumper/grille does show some minor wear on some surfaces. Typical plastic fogging has affected the window piece. 

This style is a fairly rare cab over design dating to the early 1970s. This truck was most likely part of a fire pumper set, although the "#23" decal appears to be by far the least common design for the Tonka firetrucks of that era (most featured a small Tonka logo in an oval, and no stripe). This sturdy truck is ready for its fifth decade of play, or the pampered life of a collectible in a Tonka-lover's fleet.
